03
Technology powering the bioeconomy

MORFO’s technologies don’t just restore forests—they create jobs and new income streams. With more than 1,200 job positions already generated in seed collection, monitoring, and planting, restoration is fueling a vibrant local economy.

Meet the team and partners

You’ll get to meet Pascal Asselin (co-founder), Gregory Maitre (CEO Brazil), Emira Cherif (Chief Science Officer), and more of the MORFO team.

Local community members and agroeconomy partners will also be on site to share their stories and experiences with you.

THIS IS THE FIelD WHERE COP MEETS THE FOREST

Our guided experience lasts about 60 minutes—an immersive journey from degraded land to a forest under active restoration.

Join a visit
or book A private tour

By requesting an invitation, you can either join one of our existing visits — small, guided groups of up to 10 participants — or request a private visit designed specifically for your organization and partners. Each visit offers a hands-on experience of forest and soil restoration in action, led by the MORFO team on site.

Discover below some of our special tracks, organized several times throughout COP30, designed to connect participants from similar fields — such as ESG leaders, scientists, investors, and journalists — for deeper exchanges in the heart of the Amazon.

Special Track
— sustainability and ESG leaders —

Every day, one dedicated track welcomes sustainability and ESG directors from global organizations.

You’ll walk through the flagship forest with MORFO’s science and operations teams and see how large-scale restoration becomes measurable, reportable, and compliant.

From AI-driven monitoring to drone-based planting systems and biodiversity performance indicators, you’ll experience how technology and ecology come together to deliver credible impact. This visit is designed to help you connect restoration practices with your own company goals — whether reducing emissions, meeting biodiversity targets, or developing high-quality carbon and nature projects.

To join the Sustainability Leaders Track, please fill out the form. Our team will contact you with available dates and details.

Special Track
— For researchers and scientific institutions —

Restoration projects often look convincing on paper, but field reality is where theories are tested. At this Restoration site, you will see how scientific research translates into operational methods that scale. Biodiversity planning, seed ecology, and soil diagnostics are combined with AI tools that monitor growth, detect exotic species, and even capture bioacoustic data. This is a living laboratory where ecological models are applied, challenged, and refined in real time.

You will meet practitioners applying seed-based reforestation in tropical conditions, see how survival rates are measured, and exchange perspectives with local partners managing seed networks and agroforestry systems.

Beyond observing, this visit creates space for collaboration.

To join the Scientists Track, please fill out the form. Our team will get back to you with available dates and collaboration options.

Special Track
— journalists, filmmakers, and content creators —

While COP30 will generate thousands of headlines inside conference halls, the real stories are happening here — in the forest.

This site offers rare, first-hand access to the people and technologies restoring the Amazon: drones flying overhead, scientists collecting data, seed networks led by women, and local communities rebuilding their ecosystems. You’ll capture visual and human stories that rarely make it into official reports — stories of biodiversity, innovation, and resilience.

For journalists, filmmakers, and influencers, this is an opportunity to document the tangible side of climate action — just 10 minutes from the main COP venue.

To join the Journalists Track, please fill out the form. Our team will reach out with the available dates and media access details.

Special Track
— investors, funds, and corporate finance leaders —

Nature-based solutions are quickly becoming a major part of sustainable portfolios, yet most investment decisions still suffer from one gap: seeing how capital truly translates into measurable impact on the ground. At this Restoration site, you can connect finance with reality.

For investors, this is an opportunity to evaluate both environmental and financial returns. You’ll understand how projects are structured to align with carbon markets, compliance regulations, and long-term value creation.

You will also meet the local partners making these returns possible—seed networks, community associations, and technical teams—offering a clear picture of where your money goes and how it multiplies. This experience is more than a field visit; it’s due diligence in action. It shows you how capital can de-risk early-stage restoration, unlock large-scale projects, and accelerate climate-positive portfolios in Brazil and beyond.

Want to go beyond the visit?

Join the Amazonia 500 Challenge — a large-scale reforestation effort in Belém led by MORFO and four local NGOs.

Together, we’re restoring 500 hectares: 400 hectares of fire-damaged forest and 100 hectares of agroforestry systems with local farmers.

THE amazonIA 500 CHALLENGE

Restoration is a team effort

Positivo — Technical partner

Positivo enhances the visitor experience by integrating digital content and on-site technologies developed by MORFO. Throughout the journey, visitors can explore interactive tools that bring science and restoration to life.

Decathlon — Equipment partner

Decathlon provides the field equipment that keeps our team and visitors comfortable in every condition — ensuring that the forest, not the weather, sets the rhythm of each visit.

FREQUENTLY
ASKED
QUESTIONS

1. What happens if it rains?

Rain is good for the forest — but maybe less for the visit. In case of light rain, the experience can still take place. In case of heavy rain, it will be rescheduled. Our team will contact you a few hours in advance if that happens.

2. Is transportation included?

Yes. Free shuttle service will connect the COP30 venue and the Embrapa AgriZone site (10 minutes away). Directions and schedules will be provided upon confirmation.

3. How long does the experience last?

Two formats are available:

Fast Track (30 minutes) — a condensed immersion focused on the key steps of restoration and technology demonstrations.

Full Experience (60 minutes) — a deeper journey through the forest, science, and local partnerships behind the restoration.

4. How many people per group?

Each group is limited to 10 participants to ensure an immersive and interactive experience.

We also form groups with similar profiles — for example, if you are an ESG director, we’ll make sure to place you with other sustainability leaders for richer discussions.

Private or co-hosted visits can also be organized upon request, offering a more customized experience for teams, investors, or partners. We have received many requests to organize dedicated visits led by MORFO for partners and delegations from international organizations. These requests are evaluated based on our team’s availability and the alignment with the site’s schedule.

5. Is the experience physically demanding?

No, it is a walk of approximately 300 meters on flat ground.

6. What should I wear?

To visit our restoration area, it is recommended to wear long pants. Depending on the weather, you should also bring a light rain jacket or a hat for sun protection. If you don’t have one, MORFO can provide it. Sunglasses can also be useful.

7. Will catering be available?

Not directly on the demonstration site. However, the Embrapa AgriZone, where our restoration area is located, has a restaurant open to visitors. It offers local dishes and refreshments, making it a convenient option before or after your visit.

8. Can photos and videos be taken?

Yes. Guests are encouraged to capture and share the experience! We simply ask that you respect the privacy of local workers and follow any guidance provided by our team on-site.

9. What if a session is full?

Due to ultra-limited capacity, we recommend early booking. If a track is full, alternative times may be offered subject to availability.

10. How to support MORFO?

Two ways to get involved:

1. Sponsor hectares in MORFO’s Amazonia 500 ha Challenge, the largest AI-powered reforestation project in the Amazon.
The project is rooted in the heart of COP30: 500 hectares around Belém—400 hectares of ecological forest restoration and 100 hectares of agroforestry systems. It combines agroecology and ecological restoration while engaging local smallholder farmers to recover land degraded by fires and the lack of technical support for sustainable practices.

2. Join MORFO’s network of partners, scientists, and investors driving large-scale restoration.
